the omnibus band was founded by jarda zajpt and petr dikan in 1979 in czechoslovakia. having met at the electronic high school, electronics was their field of expertise. over time, petr dikan constructed several sound devices such as the Šílený fridrich (Šf, crazy frederick) keyboard and the vsd (všude samý dráty/wires everywhere) generator which he operated during the recordings and also at concerts. at that time, heavily influenced by brian eno and robert fripp from the king crimson band, jarda zajpt played the guitars, using all kinds of effects, pre-recorded tapes, and one or more interconnected tape recorders. the first record, “israels”, was produced between 1980 and 1982. in 1985, jarda zajpt swapped a guitar for a keyboard and a new member arrived – pavel zvolenský – who programmed and played the automatic percussions. martin bauer, playing the bass guitar, completed the trio. they have produced a second album, “rhythmus”, in this assembly. remastered from unreleased tape recordings. this is the first release in the framework of the project jupiter 08 – archeology of the slavic electronic sound.

there is an alternative reality known as the big funk factory. those unsuspecting travellers who fall into this other place find themselves exposed to many characters and tales from this universe.

electri city was created in 1980 in bundt’s own studio. using a ppg synthesizer and a teac four-track tape recorder, he anticipated the home recording trend. he worked on the mixes with a revox tape machine, cutting and splicing by hand. whereas he had enlisted guest musicians on the predecessor neon, this time around he did everything himself, except for two tracks which featured keyboarder steve robison (reiner geyer) who had played with bundt in the krautrock band nine days’ wonder.

repress !! for the sixth release on tardis records, label owners eli verveine and oscar schubaq proudly present two tracks from the personal archives of peter kremeier a.k.a. losoul, a man who has been rocking dancefloors and enchanting listeners with his uniquely abstract and tripped-out take on minimal house for two decades and counting. on the a-side, * soda island* hangs cut-up vocal stabs over the last word in bone-dry, bass-heavy grooves. * sparkling please* on the flip starts out cheerfully but then subtly mutates into spooked insectoid psychedelia anchored by crisp percussion and bass. drop either of these cuts at the right moment and watch the dancers lose their minds! mastered and cut by stefan betke at scape mastering.

desolat label boss loco dice is back with what is sure to be a massive autumn package: he has remixed the seminal dance track ‘go’ by the legendary moby, twice, and has made it all his own in the process. moby needs little introduction: the american dance producer and live performer’s albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. they have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. his ‘go’ track was what started it all for him back in the 90’s, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. it still resonates today and always gets crowds going. now it has been remixed twice by loco dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion. his first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown. the second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. this one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night. both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight loco dice.

popping up for the first time on figure spc y, it was the remarkable synth-work of ubx127 that instantly struck a chord with the labels demand for substantial techno. now the stockholm artist proves himself loyal and hits back twofold with a pair of eps that further highlight his mastery of both vivid modulation and effective sequencing. leading into this batch of new tunes are the crafty and beautifully fleshed-out synth-arpeggios of opener han, which ubx127 complements gracefully by adding tender touches of melody. a2 cut create and destroy displays a new side to the producer that verges on the manic, building upon a swirling theme that soon flies into a lunatic frenzy. soothing then are the spacious sounds of barabrus, a crisp piece of floating breakbeats and shoving sub-bass. living up to its name, swells starts as a bold synth-led groove and slowly grows into a romping beast that rebels against glistening sonic whiplashes. even in its own right constant permutation part 1 stands as a cohesive and compelling record that will add to any collection. but with its equally strong successor already waiting in the wings, it is ubx127 himself who will make a lasting impression.

the revised brotherhood recorded their one and only 45rpm single tragedy b/w those things in 1971. the band was founded by organist john hurd who was taught music many days a week by roger troutman. the band released a full length album shortly after the 45 but it did not take long and they split up. thanks to john hurd all of you get the chance to enjoy these songs on 45rpm single, more than 40 years after its initial release.

massive 11-piece latin american afrobeat combo nelda piña y la boa have been exploring the vast rhythms of west african music and its many branches within their home base country of colombia for the last 3 years. influenced by the contrasting sounds and traditions of colombia s disparate atlantic & pacific coast cultures, they bring a unique twist to the familiar afrobeat lineup that is accentuated by their cantadora nelda piña, a singer from the bolivar region who was born in the 1940s. once again, colombia and its deep reservoir of modern and traditional musicians prove the awesome alchemy of melding the sounds and aesthetics of old and young generations.

when trends in music can come and go in the blink of an eye, ten years is a long time to stay relevant, passionate and real on the frontline. from its roots in the parisian club scene by way of its spiritual home at fuse in brussels and so on to the globe-trotting, multi-faceted entity that it is today, lessizmore is living proof of how to do a decade right.

rome native marco piovesan is a dj’s producer. his driving style, pristine sound quality and nuanced tones makes his techno of the variety that draws bodies to the dance floor, and keeps them there. 2013 was his breakout year which saw releases land on gynoid audio, m_rec ltd.. that same year piovesan launched his own enterprise, h.omevvork recordings, as a haven for richly emotive techno music imbued in ‘90s spirit. to date it’s three ep’s have been remixed by luminaries such as giorgio gigli, daub and m_rec ltd’s sadly departed chief max_m. piovesan joined the key roster soon after as part of a split ep with another (then) up-and-comer, hector oaks. his two works, “black paranoid 7” and “black paranoid 10”, were clean, steely dj fodder underscored with a dark energy that made both of them potent club weapons. now piovesan returns with four cuts of surging, remorseless marching material design to tear up strobe-lit basements and big room halls alike. for djs who take no prisoners, who enjoy calling on the old techno ghosts too.

emerging from the romanian underground scene, talented young artist dragutesku finds fapte records with a prepared artwork for this release and by coincidence the name of his 2 tracks match the already made picture, so we’ve called it coincidente. on a side is the psychedelic logo of the label matching the track halucinant, having a minimal creepy sound but with a groovy pleasing vibe in the same time, making one hallucinate when listening to it & looking at the spinning center of the vinyl. as for b side, were we can find the track pastel, we must say we barely found this pastel-painting by leonid a. who gave us the right to use it, completing the art for this release maching the colorful minimal sound of the track by dragutesku later on. these are the true facts and actions (en.trans.= fapte) we experienced and hope to transmit further along with this 180g limited vinyl.

emotional especial and cocktail d amore music enter cahoot-mode once again with a second round of sfire remixes that take proceedings down a deeper, more stripped-back path courtesy of the inimitable timothy j fairplay and willie burns. two artists who need little introduction offer up two remixes each that take the unique original to new dance floor extremes. timothy steps up first with his take on -sfire 2- via differing vocal and instrumental versions. his trademark, echo laden rolling percussion and john carpenter-style key lines take the original synth-pop homage to the dark room. adding arps, a lifting, hedonistic breakdown and the scatter-stepper drums and claps found on the instrumental version and this is pure cotf territory and the better for it. mr willie burns meanwhile has long followed his own path for his take on -sfire 3-, offering one of his deepest remixes to date. thudding kick, brooding pads and dark strings force the vocals to go down, way down for examination. the distorted vocals of remix 1 are countered by remix 2 letting the track shine via a seemingly endless 4/4 beat. psychedelic, trance inducing, pulsating, this is an ever growing mind expanse.

ltd pressing , following the frankly huuuuuge norsk tripping release we get another xl rune portion, this time on his own drum island imprint... disko romeiko, as the title may suggest is a stomping, campfire lit and admittedly unlikely culture clash of greek and norwegian music. a vocoder laced, up-tempo workout of norse disco technique and traditional greek melodies that is a surefire dancefloor delight. remixes come from rune collaborator in chief, oyvind blikstad, who pitches the vocoder vox front and centre and strips back the groove while amping up the drama. finally baz reznik opts for a rumbling, acid laced house take... quite a package

release & versand am 29.08.2016 dl/ms/ is the new project of dan lodig and martin sovinz, who have joined forces for a three-track debut of jacking analogue techno that brings both artists fortes to the table. dan lodig contributes the rhythmics and staggering arpeggios. martin sovinz complements this with the eerie keys and masterful effect use that show off his impressive skills of putting his analogue gear park to work. far from being a one-off project, /dl/ms/ have been working on their music over the past months, and further releases on pomelo, trust, and more are on the horizon.
